Prior to and during Christmas, 2010

The racetrack was set up when we were up north and got a work out for a couple of days since there wasn't any snow to keep the boys outdoors. Under the pool table is a perfect location!

It was very difficult for Dev to "just watch". He doesn't have the skill to run the cars at a slow consistent speed but he thinks he does!

The boys assigned us seating!

Fast forward to Christmas Eve. Logan wanted to go look at the lights in the neighborhood. While we were gone Santa came so we missed the jolly old soul! Dil had asked for a penguin pillow pet.

Logan got a new BB/Pellet gun from us. "Just what he wanted"!

The only thing on Dev's list was a "Buzz bike"(as in Buzz Lightyear) and, of course, Santa made that request happen.

And here is Dil's BB gun that he was thrilled with.

A pogo stick was also on the wish list!

After all of the presents were opened, this character was rather happy running around with his pants down!!!

New DSi's....little computer games that have camera and wi-fi capabilities.
And they better not get lost!

A little chocolate candy cane fix right before bedtime!

More loot!

The Caterpillar tent!

The pogo stick is getting a workout!

Dev got onto the bike and away he went. There was no hesitation whatsoever.

Here he is standing up! He must think he's not a 3 year old!

All three of the boys went non stop all day, with a few bike rides to the park, launching rockets, pogoing (is that a word?) and playing Pictionary on the Wii. A great Christmas! Thanks for a fun time!

Hey, it's an Arizona snowman!

Time to make a snowman in the high country.
This is the snow dude built by the boys. We had to drive 20 miles back d0wn the Rim to find enough snow.....in Forest Lakes.

This is the second attempt. The weather was rather warm and wet and the first snowman didn't last long. We called this the snow penguin and Dev was adding the carrot nose.
Dev made his mom buy carrots for the snowman nose but forgot them at home. Had to go to the Heber store to buy snowman carrots! We spent 3.5 days hoping for snow at the cabin and all we got was rain . Oh, well, maybe later in the winter season! Gotta get home for Santa.
It seems like on Christmas Eve for the last couple years we have gone out and looked at Christmas lights. Last year when we were driving around the neighborhood, we ran into Santa leaving a neighbors house. That was certainly a surprise. When we finally got home, Santa was just walking out the back door! Dil says he's not going to look at Christmas lights this year because he wants to stay home so he can see Santa. We shall see how the plan goes......

Dev's 3rd birthday

We have asked Dev for a couple months what he wanted for his birthday. He always said "a Buzz Quad". He had eyed one in Walmart but it really was too small for this big guy. We happened to find this 12 volt one that was for ages 3-7 so it was just the perfect size. We couldn't wait to give it to him so he got it two days before his real birthday.

Look at that smile!!! Now Dev has his own quad, just like everyone else.

It has two speeds, 2.5 mph and 5 mph. I think he was still in low gear here.

Of course half the neighborhood had to get into the action.

He later put Buzz Lightyear stickers all over it so it has a custom paint job. He was one happy camper.

Sunday we took the three boys to the McCormick train park in Scottsdale. We hadn't been there for three years, since Dil was three. He didn't remember being there but Logan did.

Three little angels trying to figure out what to do first!

Well, let's ride the train! (Don't have to have a supervising adult with these big guys.)

Let's get going!

No fighting yet!

This is the little steamers train!

A little Merry-Go-Round action!

Can we have some ice cream? Well, OK!

Another train ride....in the cattle car!!

And another Merry-Go-Round trip with no adult this time!

Dev is loving it!

Lights out on the way home!

There's no pictures of the FIRST cake, which was a cute Thomas cupcake train. Toni (the dog) devoured half of it. The second half got mushed with the help of the cute 3 year old so this is a little mini cake.

Let's get those candles lit!

And in a few minutes...the cake was gone!
Happy third Birthday, Dev!

Buzz gets new glass!

If you recall, when we were traveling through Texas in April, the windshield cracked...for no apparent reason. Yesterday was the scheduled day for the replacement. We didn't even have to leave the park.

It took three guys to do the two hour job!

Getting ready to take the old one out!

Hey there!

Lots of resident supervisors!

So how much does it weigh? 175 lbs and costs about $2,000 (covered by insurance)!

The new one ready to get into position.

The final touches are almost complete.
We were told that the break was in the inside and was probably a stress fracture! Hope Buzz is done stressing!
So got that "to-do" done!
